Welcome to my digital portfolio. I am a 2008 graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in professional writing with major specializations in editing, publishing, web design, and creative writing. I also have completed coursework in English, women's studies, chemistry, chemical engineering, and French. My diverse background has given me the ability to write confidently and convincingly across many genres.

In 2010 I graduated from the two-year Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing at Eastern Washington University. I specialize in fiction writing. As part of my curriculum, I worked as an assistant managing editor for Willow Springs, a literary journal of prose, poetry, and interviews. Before becoming assistant managing editor, I worked a year as the journal's first web editor. I also held a position as a web designer and technical writer with the online learning division of the Department of International and Educational Outreach at the university.

I currently teach first-year writing at Michigan State University. When not teaching, planning lessons, or grading, I continue to work on my creative projects. I publish book reviews with The Collagist and I write weekly blog posts for the arts and culture blog Bark.

This portfolio contains samples of work in academic and formal writing, creative writing, editing, document and image design, and web design. If you have any questions, or would like to hire me, please feel free to contact me.
