Welcome to my digital portfolio. I am a recent graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in professional writing with major specializations in editing, publishing, web design, and creative writing. I also have two non-major specilizations in chemistry and chemical engineering. My diverse background has given me the ability to write confidently and convincingly across many genres. And, in the fall, I will begin a two-year Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing at Eastern Washington University.
I recently finished two years of employment at the MSU Writing Center where I served as both a writing consultant and a digital writing consultant. In assisting others with their projects (from persuasive essays and dissertations to resumes and web sites), I was constantly able to reflect on the different forms and elements of communication and, through this reflection, found ways to improve my own work. I have also completed an internship as an editorial assistant for Fourth Genre, a literary magazine of creative nonfiction published by the Michigan State University Press.
