This page contains samples of my curriculum design work. Most of this work is from my work at the undergraduate level, but I have also created content for standardized tests at the K–12 level.

Blog Posts Workshop
Because of my background in both the sciences and writing, I was asked to create and deliver a 90-minute presentation on creating blog posts to interns at the Kellogg Biological Station. My audience for this presentation was science students from across the country who, as part of their internship, were required to create a blog post detailing the research they were engaged in. I was asked to come back and give this presentation yearly until the start of the pandemic.
Ethics of Writing Syllabus
This syllabus is for a course I first proposed as a special topics class and that was eventually moved into the regular curriculum due to student response. I designed this course from the ground up, pulling from established and experimental pedagogies. This iteration of the syllabus, from 2023, includes my attempt to use the elements of gameful pedagogy to create a more equitable and motivating course experience for students.
Participant Observation Assignment Sheet
This is an assignment I created for an upper-level course on qualitative research. This class introduces students to different types of qualitative research and the writing that might be created as a result of various types of research. When making assignment sheets, I balance clarity and depth in a way that, I hope, gives students a general sense of what we're doing and why but that also allows room for students to carve out their own experiences. I also prioritize accessibility in the documents so that all students can fully and easily access all of the information it contains.
Cloud-Based Collaborative Writing Article
This article (which is unfortunately behind a paywall) is the result of a multi-year project I undertook with a colleague on using the studio model of teaching in the writing classroom. In addition to publishing this article, my co-author and I presented our findings at the Conference on College Composition & Communication.
