This page contains samples of my visual design work in both print and digital media. Software used to create the following pieces includes Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Some of the work requires Adobe Reader software to view.

AIM: Movement or Mafia Poster
This legal-sized poster was created as promotion for an event held on the Michigan State University Campus in April of 2008. Three different posters were created for the event, and while the other two took the different sides of the issue, mine aimed for a more neutral presentation. The poster design is done in three colors and matches the color scheme of the associated
website, which I helped design. This poster was created in Adobe Illustrator.

Illustrator Portrait
This self-portrait was mainly created with the pen tool by tracing various parts of a photograph onto different layers and required great attention to detail in order to have the resulting image look realistic. The image was created using Adobe Illustrator.

Illustrator Charts
This set of three charts uses a black and white color scheme to be ready for printing in non-color medium. Not only did this project require presenting data (self-collected), but it also required me to find a way to put all three charts into one cohesive presentation. This document was created in Adobe Illustrator.

Map of Michigan
This map of Michigan was created using a combination of traced images and data imported to Adobe Illustrator through the MAPublisher plugin. The minimalist design was chosen to showcase the detailed outline of Michigan while still conveying some basic geographical information.

Just Attention?
This image was designed to make a visual argument. My goal was to help prevent suicide by contradicting the idea that people suffering from depression and suicidal tendancies are really "fine" and just trying to get attention. To do this, I superimposed text over a combination of two images. This image shows my ability to make arguments visually and with a limited amount of text. The image was created in Adobe Photoshop.

Communication
This image was designed to be a roadside billboard image, and the assignment was to use the rhetorical device of irony. The goal was to offer some type of social critique and to attempt to persuade a targeted audience. My image targets users of AOL Instant Messenger and addresses the prevalence of netspeak on the application. The image was created in Adobe Photoshop.
